Passing through Salt Lake City, my bro and I decided to find some delicious raw food. Somebody told me about Omar's Rawtopia in Salt Lake City. Our gracious waitress Melanie seated us and brought us a delicious green drink, made by the owner's mother, Jinan. It had a combination of superfoods and secret ingredients. Apparently this secret elixir is only available on Saturdays, which is the day Omar takes off, so that is when his mother comes in and works her magic!
Melanie told us that the pizza is extra delicious because of the crust which is also created by Jinan, and includes buckwheat, flax, apple, and a touch of date- just enough to give it that something special, but not so much that it's too sweet.
As far as raw pizzas go, this is one of the better ones I've tasted, thanks in part to the tasty marinara sauce. The sliced up avocados didn't hurt either. Being raw and dairy free, there was a flavorful seed cheese, along with tasty onions, zucchinis, basil, and tomatoes.
We topped off the meal with a couple of beverages, the hemp milk chai, which is an exotic blend of the highly nutritious hemp, with seeds, dates, agave, and indian spices, and the chocolate goji, which targets the sweet tooth with raw chocolate, goji berries, coconut, almond, and agave.
Omar's is a rare find in the middle of the country evidence that no matter where you're driving in this country of ours you can find some good healthy eats out there!
