PERILS OF A BOOKSTORE EDUCATION

blessed be
the bookstores that offer the public
comfy cushioned couches to sit on and read
to our heart's content.
There have been times when i stayed in warehouses
of pleasure such as these from the moment of opening
until closing time
In Bukowski's day the literary guys were at the bar
with their faces falling into their drink
now they're down at borders kneeling in uncomfortable
positions for hours on end.
With a book on their thighs you think i have money
enough to actually spend on buying all of these books?
And there's
no cheaper date then a free book signing, assuming you just go for the lecure.
