I'm trying really hard to change my life.

That whole adage of doing the same thing just gets the same results, I fully agree. That is why I'm trying some new things. My relationship with money must change! I currently have .02 cents in the bank account! I am constantly in a state of worry over my finances. All the dreams I want to accomplish can not even be worked on in this state. And I've figured out the bandaid approach doesn't work, like somebody lending me some money. I need to figure out a way to have money rolling in. Because music is my profession of choice, for now I must work. I have decided I want to work in the health food industry. Hopefully I can get a job somewhere like Cafe gratitude.

I've been making myself go to bed ontime for the first time in years.

So I heard about this guy Dan Mcdonald:

He has this video on his youtube page about the importance of sleep, and particularly making yourself go to bed at 10 p.m. to get that circadian slice of pie at about 1030- midnight where we recharge the most. I've been finding myself awake at 2, wanting to bounce up but knowing if I get up I'm not going back to sleep. Today by 6 I was bouncing off the walls. Getting up early has never been easy for me. But I'm on a mission!!

Tom Waits on the bus

Tom Waits was NOT on the bus. But the guy sitting behind me on the 704 sounded like a guy he'd play in the movies. Some lines:
"I won an exacta at the horseraces, came in two to one. It's better then the slots they fleece you at the slots." and
"Why I'd take him into the ocean and make the sharks eat em for what he done."
and
"you can stay at them hotels but DON'T play them slots."

Pesach Weekend.

I had a nice weekend! Friday night was a big Passover dinner at my aunt and uncle's house. My mom and dad flew in from Santa Rosa, cousin Elana Bell and her husband Jai came in from NYC. Also attending were my friends Suzie, Marshaune, and Nadine France Ellman. Also, Elana's awesome friend Pamela Samuelson, an extremely intelligent and talented aerialist and all around renaissance woman. Nadine played two songs from her new album, "Sailor on the highway", and "Funny love". I accompanied her on guitar and then played 3 of my songs.
The next night was a smaller dinner at my aunt and uncle's with mainly just the family. The next day, Sunday, I went with my parents and aunt and uncle to a french restaurant in playa del rey, then to the melrose/ fairfax flea market to see my cousin mike's Crystal/ rock sales set up. I bought a few pieces for my collection. Then we went to a jam at Eli Lester's house. After that, we all went to Destini cafe in Playa del Rey then I went with my cousins to Pamela's place in Echo park- I wished i was more hungry because the food was so delicious- i did eat a little bit, but had to give my stomach a rest. We played music, it was a great night.
Today, i woke up and made my way back home via a few buses. The #3 was extremely crowded- i got off and got the number 1- where a guy was telling me that you could get work at the truckstops in downtown l.a. at santa fe and alameda. A guy laughed when I responded "that's a good idea" after he was talking about how people get work hanging out by home depot.

Day review

Finished the rough draft of my screenplay that i'm writing! Went with Suzie to the mac store, they gave me a new cord. My old one broke! That was awesome that they did that for me. She bought a flashdrive because we thought we were going to have to power the computer up at the store , transfer the script on the drive then work on it on her computer- but because they gave me the cord I was able to work. So we finished the screenplay after a few hours, working with a scene that I had lost and then rewritten, melding both versions into one scene. The script has tons of dialogue, maybe like a play more then a movie. We finished the night with youtube videos, i was trying to get her into janes, the clash and pogues, and she wanted to see tori amos- then we watched part of the commentary for the dvd about bettie page. I can't wait to watch the doc about the clash.
Tomorrow I am buying a bus pass for 42 dollars off of Janete, Dave's roommate. I have 25 bucks in my chase account and 8 in my b of a account so i need another 9 bucks.....yikes i'm broke. The manager here says that when this building passes escrow i may be able to get hired as asst. manager so my rent will be taken care of!

April 1 weekend review.

3/31- Went to Suzie's house, we worked on our screenplay. Spent the night there. The next day, 4/1 we went to whole foods and had lunch, then to Emile's Swiss Pastry to work more on the script. We are now in a revision process. We ended up renting Notorious Bettie Page at Cinefile, and I got the making of London Calling which I will watch later. We're now still up at 1 A.M. 4/2.
